GenMed Laboratory offers forensic research using DNA analysis both for institutional and private clients. Each analysis is performed under supervision of court expert.

Biological trace analysis enables to compare DNA isolated from objects found at crime scene (blood, saliva, semen, hair etc.) with DNA of individuals, who might have left these traces. By comparative analysis of DNA isolated from two traces, we are able to examine if they belong to the same person.

We also offer the service of arrival of GenMed Laboratory expert to any place in Poland within 24 hours from receiving the order – to conduct sample collection. Standard analysis includes 16 DNA markers, which assures power of discrimination equal to about. It means that on average, one every 10 to the power of 17 person will have the same genetic profile as investigated individual. Such accuracy significantly reduces risk of confusion.

A set of 16 DNA markers analysed by GenMed Laboratory includes all markers used by American service (FBI, CODIS System – 13 markers) and european service (10 DNA markers), which ensures versatility and enables comparison with any genotype stored in databases. Unique methods of DNA isolation and sample analysis in GenMed Laboratory enables proper determination of highly contaminated and degraded biological traces.

Examples of biological traces that enable isolation and analysis of DNA:

    • blood – dry blood stains on any surface
    • hair – with roots
    • urea – about 50 ml
    • saliva from chewing gum
    • body tissue
